Just north of Springerville, Becker Lake lies flat under a skin of morning mist, and the cool coming off it lasts well into the day. Reed's Lodge takes the early rounds while that coolness holds — mowing, trimming, edging the walks, and clearing the cuttings off the drive before anyone is out with coffee.
