Sixth Avenue wears its murals in full color, and the yards on the side streets off it keep their own kind of upkeep — a mesquite pruned up off the fence, a strip of grass cut short and even. M.E.M. Landscaping does exactly that work: mowing, edging, weeding, and clearing whatever the wind has piled against a wall. Mid-morning is when the neighborhood is out, and a mower going by is part of the sound of the place.
