San Manuel was laid out in straight ranks on a bench above the San Pedro, and those long even streets are a pleasure to work: mow, turn, mow, with the Galiuros standing blue in the east. Tri-City Lawn Services handles the mowing, string trimming and yard cleanups that keep those blocks looking cared for. Early is best — the valley holds its cool until the sun clears the range, and grass cut in that hour keeps its color. Down in the river bottom the cottonwoods go gold and let go all at once, and clearing a yard before the wind scatters it again is its own satisfaction.
