Abe's Yard Work

About Abe's Yard Work

A Gambel's quail will walk a whole family across a Prescott Valley cul-de-sac on a Saturday morning in May, single file and unhurried, and then the mowers start. Abe's Yard Work is a yard-care outfit built for exactly that kind of street: grass cut and edged, trimming around the mailbox post and the block wall, weeds taken out of the rock strip, everything swept up and gone before lunch. Late spring here is a gift — the wind has settled, the heat has not arrived, and a lawn will hold a stripe for days. The job is simple to describe and satisfying to do well. A neighbor should be able to tell, from the driveway, that somebody came.
