About Christopher's Gardens

June evenings in Pinetop-Lakeside run long and cool, the light lying sideways through the ponderosas until nearly nine, and the meadow at Woodland Lake Park keeps that glow after the rest of town has gone blue. Christopher's Gardens works toward yards that feel like that hour — grass mown even, beds weeded, borders cut where lawn gives way to pine duff. Up here a tended lawn is a small act of intention against a very large forest, and the line where the green ends is what makes it read. Weekly mowing, patient trimming and cleanups that carry off what the trees let go keep that line exactly where it belongs. A yard finished on a summer evening in the White Mountains is worth the whole day that went into it.
