Botanist of The Valley

About Botanist of The Valley

For about three weeks in April the palo verdes over Peoria drop so much yellow that the sidewalks change color and every yard in town needs sweeping twice. Botanist of The Valley leans into that calendar: mow, edge, trim the shrubs, clear the bloom-fall, and keep the beds from vanishing under it. A Sonoran yard is a conversation between things that want water and things that don't, and lawn care here is mostly knowing which is which. Weed control before the summer rains beats weed pulling after them. Come October the overseed goes down, and the whole city quietly turns green while the rest of the country turns brown.
