About A & J’s Family Lawn Services

Mesa's grid still follows water older than the city: at Park of the Canals the Hohokam ditches hold their shape in the dirt, and the streets took their bearings from them. A & J's Family Lawn Services keeps the yards along those blocks, cutting and edging in the early hours while the air still carries the last of the night. There is real pleasure in a Bermuda lawn squared off clean against a granite bed — one line, held straight the whole length of the drive. Trimming close to the block wall, blowing the walk down, carrying the clippings away: the yard reads finished, not simply mowed. By July the start time slides earlier and the light goes white by ten, and the edge comes out just as crisp.
