Linden sits on the seam where juniper country gives way to ponderosa, wide meadows running out to the east and Porter Mountain low on the skyline. Josh Boggs Tree Service works both sides of that seam — pruning junipers back into shape, thinning pine crowns, removing whatever has grown too near a house, a barn or a line. The wind crosses these openings with nothing to break it, and a tree that has never been trimmed learns that the hard way. When it does, the wood is bucked, loaded and carried off until the ground looks the way it did before. Out here a well-kept place can be seen from a long way off, and that is a fine thing to leave behind.
