Kykotsmovi Village Yard

About Kykotsmovi Village Yard

Kykotsmovi Village rests at the foot of Third Mesa, and on a clear November morning the sun slides down the mesa's stone face long before it reaches the rooftops below. The air out here is so dry and clean that the far horizon looks close enough to reach by lunch. Kykotsmovi Village Yard is listed for lawn care in the village, where every growing thing is coaxed from sandy ground under an enormous sky. Late autumn is for putting a yard to rest: a last mowing, dead growth cleared away, the ground left neat for winter. When midday warms the mesa rim to gold, a yard closed up in good order for the cold months is a small, satisfying sight.
