The Yard Man

About The Yard Man

Come evening the heat lets go of the basin all at once. Dust devils wander themselves out across the flats, cholla catches the last of the sun, and the ridgeline above the Oatman road turns the color of an apricot. The Yard Man is often still going at that hour — one more pass with the mower, the trimmer walked down a fence line, a shrub squared up before the truck gets loaded. Mowing, trimming, weed control, brush cutting, clippings hauled away: plain chores that add up to a lot standing out clean on its own street. Golden Valley is home base, with the neighboring stretches toward Yucca and along old Route 66 close behind.
