Late October in the East Valley finally lets the evenings breathe, and from the south side of Gilbert the San Tans go violet while sprinklers tick on down every street. Tierra Verde works lawns through that easy stretch and the hard summer on either side of it — mowing, edging, trimming, weed clearing, and keeping turf, beds and gravel each in their own territory. Fall is the changeover here, when yards get cut down and set up for the cool-season green that carries Gilbert through winter.
