In June the last snow is still stitched into the chutes below Agassiz Peak while the town underneath has gone entirely green. Agassiz Landscape Group works that turn of the year: the mowing that begins once the ground firms up, the trimming and edging that give a yard its shape back after months under cover. Grass here grows fast and briefly, so it wants a steady cut rather than a rescue. Every visit takes the whole yard, corners and fence lines included, and the clippings leave with the truck. By evening a lawn that spent the winter flat and pale is standing up green beneath a mountain that hasn't quite let go.
