About Gifted hands landscaping and more

Six o'clock on San Joaquin Road, the light goes long and gold and every block wall throws a shadow twice its height. Gifted hands landscaping and more takes the last yard of the day in that light — mower shut down, trimmer out, the fine work along the walk and around the citrus trunks done by hand where the hand does better. Mowing and edging give a lawn its shape; the trimming and the cleanup are what make it look finished. Drexel Heights yards are small enough that details carry, and the details are the part worth slowing down for. The reward is a quiet, clean yard at dusk with the smell of cut grass still hanging in it.
