Morning comes early to Casas Adobes, and Three Musketeer Services likes to be out in it — mowers running while the Santa Catalinas still hold that first pink light along the ridgeline. This is desert lawn work: grass kept honest above the caliche, edges cut clean where turf gives way to gravel and palo verde shade. The crew mows, edges, runs the string trimmer along the borders and blows the walks clear, then moves on before the heat leans in around ten. In the shoulder weeks they work the yard cleanups, clearing what the wind up from the Rillito wash has piled into the corners and against the block walls. There is real pleasure in a lawn that reads sharp from the street at seven in the morning — a green rectangle with a knife edge, quiet under a sky already going wide and blue.
