Camp Verde still moves water the old way, ditches drawn off the Verde River threading behind fences and under driveways to keep this valley green. A lawn here is part of that arrangement, and it repays attention: mowed on rhythm, edged where the turf tries to creep, trimmed clean along ditch bank and fence line. Grass is cut at a height that lets it shade its own roots, which counts for more than anything else once summer settles in. Clippings are cleared so nothing mats down or ends up in the water. The round covers Camp Verde, Middle Verde and out toward Cottonwood.
