About 1 Dirty Handyman

The ground out past Finnie Flat is caliche under a thin skin of gravel, and it argues with anything that wants to grow on it. Lawns here are earned, so they get mowed on a set rotation, edged where turf meets rock, and trimmed close around mesquite trunks and block-wall corners a mower will never reach. Midday sun at three thousand feet is honest working weather, and the payoff is the walk back to the truck past a yard that finally looks intentional. Weeds come out of the gravel beds before they set seed and claim the whole side yard. Same approach in town or out toward McGuireville and Rimrock.
