PeeWee's Lawncare

About PeeWee's Lawncare

By ten o'clock in July the Arkansas River valley has already made up its mind about the day. PeeWee's Lawncare works the shaded side streets of Van Buren then, under pin oaks and old maples, where the mower is about the only thing moving. The cut rides a notch higher in that heat so the turf keeps its roots cool, and the trimmer follows every mailbox post and porch step. Clippings go back into the lawn and off the concrete before the truck rolls to the next stop. Come evening the block looks like somebody paid attention to it.
