Lawnscapes of the River Valley

About Lawnscapes of the River Valley

The pine country around Smackover keeps its mist until well after sunup, and the first cut of the day happens with the woods still dripping at the edge of the yard. Lawnscapes of the River Valley works that ground — sandy soil, loblolly shade on one side of a lawn and full south Arkansas sun on the other, which is two different grasses to keep happy at once. Mowing comes around on a fixed day, with trimming around the pines and the porch piers, edging along the drive, and needles and clippings blown back off the concrete. By May everything green is competing, and a yard that stays ahead of it feels like a small act of order. The reward is an even lawn set against all that dark pine.
