Ground Authority

About Ground Authority

Fog sits in the hollow at Rudy long after the ridges above it are lit, and the day starts late in the low ground along Frog Bayou. Ground Authority mows through this pocket of Crawford County where the Boston Mountains begin to stand up — cutting, trimming out around rock and post, edging drives, and blowing the walks clear. Mountain-foot yards are seldom level; there is always a bank to walk, a culvert to trim around, a shaded north side that grows slower than the sunny half. Reading a yard's own terrain and cutting it accordingly is the difference between mowed and finished. By the time the fog lifts, the grass is dry and the work is half done.
