March wind crosses the tallgrass out at Pea Ridge with nothing standing in its way, and it arrives in Powell yards carrying the first real warmth of the year. NWA Lawn and Landscaping Care opens the season then, with the cut that wakes a lawn up: the dead top taken off, bed edges reopened, the litter of the cold months cleared away. From there it becomes a steady rhythm, week to week, so the grass never gets a head start on anybody. Watching a yard come back green and level under that wind is one of the good parts of living up here. Keeping it that way the rest of the year is the job.
