BUCKS LAWN AND DIRT WORKS

About BUCKS LAWN AND DIRT WORKS

Fog fills the hollows north of Harrison most mornings, then lifts to show pasture, limestone and the hardwood ridges the Ozarks are made of. BUCKS LAWN AND DIRT WORKS reads that ground for what it is — thin soil over rock in one spot, low and soft in the next — and works with it instead of against it. Mowing, trimming and cleanup keep a yard sharp, while dirt work grades the corner that holds water and smooths the ruts a wet spring leaves behind. Getting a slope to shed rain properly is one of the more satisfying things you can do for a place, and within a season the grass tells you whether you got it right. North Harrison, Harrison and the Boone County communities around them make up the working area.
