Cabin on the hill

About Cabin on the hill

From a rise on the edge of Nashville the whole town lays out in the October haze — oaks turning, roofs and treetops running south toward the pine country. Cabin on the hill works those slopes and the flat yards below them alike, mowing to the grade, trimming the fencelines, and keeping leaf litter from smothering the grass before winter. A sloped lawn asks for a different touch than a level one; it wants cutting across the fall of the land and a careful hand near the drop-offs. The reward comes late in the day, when the light goes long and every border along the walk reads sharp from the road. This is lawn care for Nashville and the ridge-and-hollow country wrapped around it.
