Hawkins Grass Farm

About Hawkins Grass Farm

Down in the river bottoms the ground finally lies flat, and sunrise comes across the grass sideways, catching every stem it touches. Hawkins Grass Farm works that open country around Hot Springs, mowing wide acreage, trimming out fence lines and edges, and clearing the cuttings so the ground reads as one clean sweep. Bottomland soil holds water after a rain and the grass answers fast, which makes timing the whole game from May onward. There is a plain pride in standing at the gate afterward and seeing an even surface run all the way to the treeline without a missed strip. On the Ouachita's side of the county, that flat green is the view.
