On a cold morning downtown you can see the springs breathing — thin steam lifting off the hillside behind Bathhouse Row while Central Avenue is still mostly empty. Boston Grounds Management works the grounds side of Hot Springs through that season: mowing while the grass still asks for it, then trimming, edging and clearing the leaves that come off the maples and sweetgums in one long October week.
