South of Greenwood the ground climbs into the long wooded ridges that wall in the river valley, and in October the whole rim goes copper above yards still holding their green. Bufkin Lawn Services LLC works both halves of that picture — mowing while the grass is still growing, then turning to leaves as they let go in earnest. In season the round is mowing, trimming, edging and clearing the cuttings; out of season the yards get raked out and the beds emptied of whatever blew in. The reward is a lawn that stays legible all the way to the first hard freeze. Come spring the mower goes back out and the shape returns fast.
