South of Fayetteville the valley narrows and the West Fork of the White River runs shallow over pale gravel, and Greenland sits right in that seam between hill and water. Les Rogers Gravel Plant keeps the yards along it cut and kept — mowing, trimming close to posts and gravel drives, edging where turf spills onto stone. Hillside ground is never quite level, so the mowing here gets done by feel as much as by line. In high summer the grass comes on hard in the river bottoms and slower up on the thin, rocky benches, and the route allows for both. At the end the drive is left swept and the lawn holds one clean shape.
