Black Tie

About Black Tie

Gentry already knows a thing or two about stripes, since the zebras at the drive-through safari here wear theirs every day of the year. Black Tie brings a more formal version to the front yard: mowing laid down in alternating passes, edges dressed along drive and walk, the whole lawn turned out like it has somewhere to be. Out on the Ozark plateau the land rolls away in pasture and woodland, and against that open green a groomed yard stands up straight. Late afternoon is when the pattern pops, light and dark bands crossing the lawn like a pressed shirtfront. Call it lawn care with its collar buttoned.
