The Organic Lawn Guy

About The Organic Lawn Guy

Fayetteville sits on thin ground — chert and clay over limestone — and anyone who has put a spade into it knows a lawn here is really a conversation with what lies underneath. The Organic Lawn Guy works from the roots up: cutting at a height that shades the soil, aeration and overseeding once the September nights cool off out toward Lake Fayetteville, edges kept clean, trimming where a mower cannot fit. Leaves come off in autumn so the turf goes into a wet winter with air around its crown. It is patient work, and the reward arrives the following May, when a yard is thick enough that you can read the mower lines from the porch. Every visit ends with the walks swept clear and the gate latched behind him.
