About Matias Lawn and Tree Services

The old streets between the square and the university are roofed in oak and hickory, which is a gift for ten months of the year and a considerable job in the other two. Matias Lawn and Tree Services works both halves: weekly mowing, edging and trimming through the growing season, then the long leaf labor when the canopy comes down all at once. Shrubs are shaped, beds cleared and mulched, and the turf under all that shade is overseeded so it does not thin away to dirt. In summer the cut goes a little higher to keep roots cool through an Ozark July. By December the yards stand bare, raked clean, and ready to be quiet for a while.
