Siloam Springs wakes up slowly — brick storefronts catching the early sun, the Illinois River running cool west of town, somebody already out on the water before the heat sets in. Siloam Mows is out early too, cutting lawns, trimming the fence lines and foundations, and edging where grass meets pavement. Summer here is humid enough that the work goes best in the first hours of the day, so the route starts at daylight and finishes ahead of the worst of it. When the season turns, leaves and yard cleanup take over, and the closing mow leaves everything level for winter.
