About Caroline Springs Gardening

Out on the Grand Prairie the land lies so level that a row of shrubs counts as topography, and a planted bed becomes the whole shape of a front yard. Caroline Springs Gardening works at that close range — setting plants, pulling weeds out of the beds by hand, keeping borders defined, and mowing the turf that frames them. Lonoke County mornings in early summer come up over flooded rice with a mirror on the water, and it is a fine hour to have your hands in soil. Gardens here have to take heat, sun and a wind that crosses miles without meeting a hill, so the work is as much about tending as planting. By evening a bed that was ragged in the morning sits clean-edged against the grass, and the whole front of the house lifts with it.
