About Lawn Butler

Crepe myrtles along the streets of Wetumpka start throwing color in June and keep at it until the heat finally relents. Lawn Butler tends the ground underneath them — mowing on a set rhythm, edging where turf meets sidewalk and drive, trimming close around mailbox posts and porch steps. A front yard is the first thing a house says to the road, and this is the work that lets it say something good. Through the growing months the route runs weekly; through fall it becomes leaves, sticks and one last tidy cut. Coming home to it is the point.
