About Phillips Lawn & Bush Hog Service

Down in the Wiregrass the land lies flat and open, sandy underfoot, with peanut fields running to the treeline and a sky that takes up most of the view. Webb is a small place in that country, and Phillips Lawn & Bush Hog Service works both sides of it — trimmed yards around the houses and bush hogging out where fields, fence rows and vacant acreage have gone chest-high. Houston County heat is serious from May to September, so the day starts early and the water jug rides shotgun. Mowing, edging and trimming for the lawns; a rotary cutter for the rough, knocking briars and broomsedge back down to something a person can walk through. It's plain, useful work, and the difference shows from the road that same afternoon.
