Winter in Holt is a brown season — bermuda gone dormant, the Black Warrior running cold under the bluff, the light low and clean through bare branches. Dillard Lawn Care uses those weeks for what summer never leaves room for: cutting hedges back hard, clearing beds down to the mulch, hauling off leaves and fallen limbs, straightening fence lines. Then March arrives, color returns to the yards, and the mowing rotation starts up again with edging and trimming at every visit. A lawn kept in January is far easier to make handsome in May. That, mostly, is the trade.
