About Mammoth Tree Service

Troy sits where the wiregrass country starts to roll, a town of wide streets and old oaks that arch clear across the pavement. An oak given the right cuts stays a landmark instead of becoming a problem, and Mammoth Tree Service keeps the big ones in hand — pruning the arch back off street lights, trimming a canopy away from a second-story window, removing a trunk whose roots have finally lifted a sidewalk. Late summer carries the tail ends of Gulf storms up into Pike County, all rain and steady wind, and by morning there are limbs across the driveways of half a block. Working through that is straightforward and unglamorous: cut, drag, chip, sweep, and on to the next one. By the time the truck leaves, the street looks the way it did the week before.
