About Thornton Iron & Metal

Town Creek lies where the Tennessee River valley flattens into cotton, with Wheeler's backwater to the north and the Bankhead woods rising away to the south. It is working ground, and the yards are working yards — wide, open, edged by field and gravel. Thornton Iron & Metal takes on the lawn end of it: mowing, trimming, edging, and clearing lots and property lines back to where a person can walk them again. Once a place is cut and the brush is off it, the whole property sits differently on the land. Lawrence County keeps growing it all back, and the mowers keep going out.
