Landscape The South

About Landscape The South

South Alabama gives a yard something in bloom nearly every month — camellias fat with cold rain in January, magnolias throwing white saucers into May. Landscape The South builds around that calendar, planting and shaping beds, mulching, and keeping the lawn mowed, edged and trimmed so the plantings have a frame to sit in. The sandy Theodore ground drains fast, which decides what belongs where and how deep it goes in. The good version of this work looks inevitable, as though the yard simply grew that way on its own. That illusion takes planning, and a great many afternoons.
