Hornsby Mowing

About Hornsby Mowing

Saturday morning out toward Reeltown, the fencelines run off into pasture and the grass does not care what day it is. Hornsby Mowing keeps after it — mowing, string-trimming the posts and mailboxes, blowing the drive clean before the truck pulls away. It is straightforward work done straight: overlapping passes, a turn at the ditch, the same lines every week so a yard reads like corduroy from the road. Late summer in Tallassee means cutting ahead of the afternoon storm, and there is a particular pleasure in beating the first fat drops by ten minutes. Come Monday the grass starts over, and so does he.
