About Wheeler Tree Service

West of Birmingham the ridges break into wooded hollows, and Sylvan Springs tucks its houses into them under a canopy that has been closing in for generations. Wheeler Tree Service opens it back up — removing the trunk that has grown too close to a bedroom wall, trimming to get sunlight down to a yard that has forgotten it, pruning out the deadwood a July thunderstorm would otherwise deliver to the roof. Afternoon storms build fast over Jefferson County, and the calls come in while the thunder is still going. Cleanup here means working around fences, sheds and steep back lots, cutting the pieces small enough to carry out by hand where a truck cannot reach. A hollow that gets its light back looks like a different address altogether.
