Harris Tree Service

About Harris Tree Service

Springville keeps an old main street along the highway and lets Big Canoe Creek do the wandering behind it, down through bottomland hardwoods that turn all at once in October. Harris Tree Service works the ridges and the creek lots on both sides of town — removing a hollow water oak before it chooses its own direction, trimming a canopy back off gutters, pruning young trees so their limbs come in strong and evenly spaced. There is craft in reading a lean, and something satisfying in laying a big stem exactly where it was meant to go. After a hard blow crosses St. Clair County the calls stack up and the day becomes clearing: driveways first, then roofs, then the fine work with a rake. Fall light on a finished yard is one of the better sights in this line of work.
