Zavala’s Lawn Service

About Zavala’s Lawn Service

Spring reaches the Oneonta neighborhoods through the dogwoods and redbuds first, white and pink along the street before a single mower has been pulled out of a shed. Zavala's Lawn Service starts the season right behind them, mowing on a steady weekly round, edging drives and sidewalks into clean lines, trimming close where the mower cannot follow, and bagging or blowing off the clippings so the walk stays as tidy as the lawn. The pleasure of this work is its repetition — the same houses, the same route, the yard a little better each visit as the grass thickens under regular cutting. Blount County summers are long and demanding, and grass that gets attention every week handles the heat far better than grass that waits. Come Friday evening a whole street can look finished at once, and that is a good thing to drive past.
