About LawnWorks Landscaping
Notasulga is a railroad town on the Macon and Lee county line, a short main street, a set of tracks, and cotton and pasture running out from the edges of it, the town where Zora Neale Hurston was born and still small enough that a yard is known by the family who lives in it. LawnWorks Landscaping keeps those yards, mowing, edging, trimming close around porches and fence posts, mulching and shaping beds, clearing leaves once the pecans and oaks start dropping. Between here and Loachapoka, Tuskegee and Auburn the ground rolls gently and the warm season is long, which means a mowing calendar that opens in March and does not quit until November. The pleasure is all in the finish, a bed edged in a true curve, a lawn cut so the lines run square with the street. Some afternoons a train goes through and the whole town pauses for it, then goes back to what it was doing.
