Two or three times a decade the Black Warrior valley wakes up glazed and the approach to the Hugh Thomas Bridge turns to glass. Bama Landscaping keeps both halves of the Northport year: mowing, edging and cleanups from the first warm stretch of March straight through leaf season, then scraping and salting drives, walks and lots on the rare mornings the county wakes up frozen. Winter here is measured in hours rather than months, which is exactly why somebody has to be awake inside them. A cleared drive at seven in the morning is a small thing that changes a whole day. Northport, Tuscaloosa, Coker and Fosters all get the same attention, warm season and cold.
