Fog lifts off the Tennessee River below Wilson Dam and settles into the low yards of Muscle Shoals until the sun finally clears the bluff. Coldwater Landscapes is usually already out in it, mowing while the grass is cool, trimming around the crape myrtles and mailboxes, cutting the drive edge back to a clean line. River-town lawns grow thick and hold moisture, so timing the cut matters as much as the cut itself. Clippings come off the sidewalks, the beds get their borders back, and the yard sits square to the street again. By the time the water down at the dam is throwing light, another Colbert County lawn is finished for the week.
