About SouthLawn

East of Moody the land tips away toward Logan Martin water, and the breeze that comes back up over the ridges in the afternoon is the first honest relief of the day. SouthLawn works with that breeze at its back — mowing lines pulled long across the open yards, edges cut in along the drives, the trimmer taking fence corners and mailbox posts. Grass in St. Clair County grows most of the year and grows fast, so a lawn is never finished, only kept. The pleasure is in the keeping: returning to the same yard week after week and finding it a little better each time. By evening it has held its shape, and those mowing lines still read from the road.
