The Lawn Barber

About The Lawn Barber

Any barber will tell you the cut is easy and the edges are the job, and the same holds on the old streets of Alabama City, where the front lawns are small, square and completely unforgiving of a sloppy line. The Lawn Barber mows them even, runs the edger until the sidewalk seam is one continuous stroke, trims close around posts, steps and water meters, and sweeps the walk so the finished work is the only thing left behind. Gadsden's growing season is long and generous, which means a yard shows its last visit clearly for about a week and then starts asking again. Keeping that appointment is the whole trade. A trimmed lawn on a summer street is a small, entirely public satisfaction.
