Backyard Duty

About Backyard Duty

Front yards get the compliments; back yards get the living. Behind the fences of Enterprise there are pecan trees throwing shade over folding chairs, dog paths worn into the grass, a grill that has seen some things. Backyard Duty mows all of it, including the awkward corners, the strip behind the shed and the slope nobody wants, then edges, trims and clears the cuttings so the whole yard is usable by Saturday afternoon. Coffee County grass runs hard through the humid months, and a back yard left alone in July disappears in about three weeks. Keeping it open is the point: room to sit outside while the light goes long and gold over the pines.
