Elberta Lawn Service

About Elberta Lawn Service

Saturday morning on Highway 98 through Elberta runs slow — a few trucks headed toward Foley, a few pointed at the water — and the mowers are already out. Elberta Lawn Service takes the town's yards as they come: weekly cuts, trimmed fence lines, edged walks, clippings cleared off the concrete. The season on this stretch of coast runs long, so the work is less a sprint than a steady circuit of familiar addresses. There is a particular pleasure in a lawn that stays ahead of the heat all summer instead of fighting it in August. That is the whole ambition, repeated street by street.
