About 6:38 Lawn Care

Six thirty-eight in the morning is a real hour in Calera — mist still lying low in the Buxahatchee Creek bottoms, the sun barely up over the pines, dew turning every blade silver. That is when 6:38 Lawn Care likes to begin, printing the first dark stripe across a yard while the street is still asleep. Mowing, edging, string trimming, and walks left bare of clippings: simple work, and starting early means a family comes home to a yard already finished. On the rare Alabama mornings when a freeze puts white across Shelby County, that same head start goes to clearing drives and walkways before anyone has to guess at the ice. Warm months or cold snap, the pleasure is identical — a clean line where the grass stops and the concrete begins.
