Doc's Outdoors

About Doc's Outdoors

By late October the cotton fields around Tanner and Coxey go white to the fencerow, and stray lint blows across the shoulders of the county roads like snow that never melts. Doc's Outdoors mows and trims through that season, when north Alabama lawns take their last cuts and the light comes in low and gold across flat Limestone ground. Leaves gather in the corners of yards; a blower and a little patience move them out, and the beds come back into view. There is pride in leaving a place looking squared away for winter, with the grass cut low and nothing straggling at the fence. Come April the same yards get woken back up, week by week, into the long growing season.
